While he was an executive at Desilu Studios (later to become part of Paramount Pictures), he was approached by a soft-spoken Texan who was nervously holding a crumpled piece of paper. The man was Gene Roddenberry. The paper held the outline of a story that would become Star Trek: The Original Series (1966).

1977

Co-owns the rights to Man from Atlantis (1977) with Warner Brothers. According to Solow, there has been some interest in a remake of the TV show, but Warners has held off because they also own Aquaman, and want to develop something with that character, instead.
