Born from Mexican parents in the United States, but raised on the Pacific Coast of Mexico in the city of Culiacán Sinaloa, Frank has developed a strong bi-cultural perspective on life. Prior and subsequent for his influence, Frank has been interested in the works of Steven Spielberg. He was fascinated by Harryhausen type monster and Godzilla films in his early childhood. It was Jurassic Park that burst his imagination into a different level, which led his interests into making films in his early teens by playing with the family's handy cam 8mm; creating home movies with toys about smash-ups of his favorite childhood characters. For years as he struggled with the social traditions for his dream of becoming a film director; Frank never let go of his goal despite of his family's change of plans. Having been in a constant struggle in his academics as a child, his father asked him if he wanted to attend Oak Creek Ranch School, a boarding school in Arizona. Frank agreed to his father because he believed that it was a great chance to catch up with the American culture. After attending for a year, his family decided to purchase a house in Calexico, CA; a town that it is located next to the international border. However, during the years in Culiacan, his father was working in building a house in Mexicali, Baja California; the town that is located on the other side of the border from Calexico. During his time in Calexico/Mexicali, Frank attended Calexico High School and he become involved in a Catholic community of spiritual retreats that was suggested by his parents. At first, he was reluctant to join, although his family raised him Catholic. Disregarding the fact that he didn't have any established social life, the community offered him to do so. Even though religion was a strong influence on his philosophy and life, his main goal for films never vanished. But a year after his high school graduation, his father passed away due to lung cancer, giving him another view of his faith and his perspective on life. It wasn't until 2010 when he finally received an opportunity from his mother to attend The Los Angeles Film School, located in Hollywood California, to which he received an Associates Degree in Film.
His the first film after his studies was The Record Girl (2012), a love story based on an urban legend about a young man with cancer who falls in love with a record store clerk.
