Punched by Lenny Randle over being benched in favor of Bump Wills, son of Maury Wills. Lucchesi was hospitalized for a week, needing plastic surgery to repair his fractured cheekbone, which Randle had broken in three places. The Texas Rangers suspended Randle for 30 days without pay and fined him $10,000. He was traded to the New York Mets 28 days later. [March 28, 1977].
