Actor, he played the curé in the play Aurore l'enfant martyre by Léon Petitjean and Henri Rollin. Tha play had its premiere at Alcazar theater in Montréal around 17 January 1921. The melodrama was thus written and staged just a few months after the condemnations of the 2 parents. It had about 5 000 presentations in Québec, Ontario and North Eastern USA to French speaking audiences in 25 years. Émile Asselin got the rights and wrote a new version of the play that became a novel which is the base of the screenplay. He also wrote other plays and was an author and actor under the pseudonym of Marc Forrez.
