She attended Niwot High School in Colorado, where she won two cross country state championships, as well as two state track titles in the 800, 1600, and 3200.
Elise Cranny (born May 9, 1996) is an American middle and long-distance runner.
Cranny competed at the 2014 World Junior Championships and finished fourth in the 1500 m.
Cranny attended Stanford University and competed for the Cardinal from 2014 to 2018.
At the 2015 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, she won the silver medal in the 3000 m. At the 2016 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships, she won the silver medal in the 1500 m. At the 2018 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, she finished fifth in the mile.
At the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships, she won the bronze medal in the 1500 m.
After graduating from college in 2018, Cranny turned professional with the Bowerman Track Club.
She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
She is a four-title national champion and holds the American record in the indoor 5000 metres.
