Eduard Gaugler (23 June 1928 – 12 April 2014) was a German researcher, economist and former professor for human resource management at both the University of Regensburg and the University of Mannheim from 1972 to 1989.

1949

He studied economics and business administration at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich from 1949 to 1954, where he obtained his Diplom-Kaufmann (former German master's equivalent).

1966

Afterwards, he obtained his Ph.D. in business administration and his habilitation in 1966 at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

1967

He worked from 1967 to 1972 as professor at the University of Regensburg.

1972

After a proposal in 1972, he became professor for human resource management and general business administration at the University of Mannheim (UMA) where he succeeded August Marx.

At the University of Mannheim his research focused primarily on human resource management, Corporate Governance and corporate social politics.

1973

Moreover, he served as rector of the University of Mannheim between 1973 and 1976.

Gaugler was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

In 1973 Gaugler became professor of the university.

Furthermore, he succeeded Peter Frankenberg in his role as rector of the university in 1973 and remained in this position until 1976.
