Not to be confused with keyboardist Chester Thompson who is known for his work with Tower of Power (1973-1983) and Santana (1983-2009). However, drummer Chester C. Thompson did play with Santana for a short time in 1984 and is credited on the "Beyond Appearances" album along with keyboardist Chester D. Thompson.

1976

Was not the original touring drummer for Genesis. Bill Bruford played drums for the 1976 tour when Phil Collins took over vocals full time. Chester joined Genesis as their touring drummer in 1977 and has played in every tour since except "Calling All Stations" in 1998.
