Brown was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Rolesville High School.
In Brown's high school career he would complete 464 of his 758 passes for 8,122 yards and 87 touchdowns to 21 interceptions.
Brown would also rush for 2,074 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Brown would decide to commit to play college football at the University of South Florida.
Brown made his first start in the 2022 season against Tulsa, where he would go on to complete 21 of his 25 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 76 yards and a touchdown on the ground, but the Bulls would fall to Tulsa 48–42.
Brown finished the 2022 season, completing 36 of his 50 passes for 404 yards and five touchdowns to one interception, while also rushing for 179 yards and three touchdowns.
