Composer ("South Rampart Street Parade", "What's New?", "Big Noise From Winnetka"), songwriter and bassist, educated in high school and a student of Stefan Wolpe, Ruppert Graves, Tibor Serly, and Tom Timothy. He was a bassist in the Bob Crosby orchestra between 1935 and 1942, and thereafter he was a freelance composer for radio, records and television. Later he joined the NBC staff with Skitch Henderson and wrote commercial themes, radio and television jingles and film music.
