Bill Fraser was born on June 5, 1908 in Perth, Scotland as William Simpson Fraser.

1939

At the age of twenty ran his own repertory company at Worthing. Acted on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the British National Theatre, having made his debut at the West End in 1939. Served with the RAF during World War II. In later years, toured Australia and appeared at the Canadian George Bernard Shaw Festival. Film roles small, but popular on television in shows like Bootsie and Snudge (1960) and Rumpole of the Bailey (1978).

1985

He was an actor, known for The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ (1985), Eye of the Needle (1981) and Helter Skelter (1949). He was married to Pamela Cundell.

1987

He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1987 (1986 season) Best Comedy Performance for "When We Are Married".
