After her first, brief marriage ended in 1987, she was married for one year to Daniel Ecija. She gave birth to three children, one of whom passed away at a young age.

Had three children with Daniel Écija: Belén (b. 1994), María (b. 1996) and Lucía (b. 1998). María died of a heart disease as a baby.

Rueda returned to Madrid and worked as a salesperson and a model until she became a TV presenter.

Rueda played the lead role of the Spanish thriller Los ojos de Julia (2010), which was produced by Guillermo del Toro.
