He is the founder, CEO and Chairman of A. A. Rano Nigeria Limited,operating in a full-stream; oil and gas company, Airline, Agro related industry

He hails from Rano Local Government Area of Kano South, Kano state of northern Nigeria with an estimated net worth of 3 Billion US Dollars

Rano was born in Lausu town in Rano Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria.

He belongs to the Hausa-Fulani ethnic group.

He started his business career by selling ice blocks, groundnut oil, and other local items.

AA Rano oil is one of the leading oil & Gas industry in Nigeria with 60 million Tank farm in Lagos, with 120 Retail outlet/ Filling stations across Nigerian and over 600 trucks & LPG Terminals as well as acquired vessel (M.T LAUSAU) in the year 2014.

The company also provides jetty services to other depot owners around its depot located at Ijegun-Egba as well as other services to oil marketers who find the state of the art facilities and safety systems at its depot very comforting and conducive for their operation.A Rano Nigeria Limited’s core business is the wholesale and retail of PMS, DPK, AGO, LPG and lubricants to its customers at its various filling stations scattered across the country and the supply of AGO and LPFO to manufacturers and other industrial concerns.

He also supports students with tuition fees, and pays the hospital bills of indigent patients.

He is happily married to Hajia Asma'u Auwalu Abdullahi Rano and Hajiya Habiba Auwalu Abdullahi Rano.

He has been honoured with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the Nigerian government.

He has also been named as The Sun Industrialist of the Year 2021.
