On Broadway in the late 40s, she performed in "On the Town" and "Bonanza Bound" written and composed by then-husband Adolph Green. She divorced Green in May of 1953 and married actor George Gaynes in December of that year. They were together over 60 years.

1969

Best known character film role was in They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969) in which she plays Red Buttons' marathon dance partner who goes "squirrelly" and freaks out thinking there are bugs all over her.
